David Jacklin is well known in this province for his defense of those who from time to time, come into conflict with the law. With broad experience in all aspects of court advocacy, he is a noted and respected specialist in criminal law, income tax evasion cases and environmental offences.

A leading criminal practitioner, David has acted as lead counsel on a number of murder trials, and his high-profile expertise in jury settings has established him as a top advocate in serious criminal cases.

With degrees in both arts and commerce, David studied law at the University of Windsor and, upon graduation, returned to Chatham-Kent, joining Harold O’Brien, Q.C. He was admitted to the Bar in 1978.

While criminal litigation has been the prime focus of his law practice, he has also taught criminal law, lectured in advanced courses on trial advocacy, and for many years was on the faculty of St. Clair College.

Actively involved in his profession, David is a member of the Criminal Lawyers Association, the Kent Law Association and the Canadian Bar Association.

He is a longtime supporter of his community, enjoying stints as a baseball and hockey coach, as well as serving as president of the Kinsmen Club and acting as a director and warden of Trinity Anglican Church. He has also pursued his environmental interests as a member of the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority.
